How are Max’s Book Club monthly books selected?
We do extensive research of the children’s books that are being published every month, and, using reviews from companies that are highly respected in the industry, along with personally reading each book, we choose books that we feel have lasting value, are visually beautiful, and will be fun for each member to read!
Can I put a different message on the bookplate in each book?
Definitely! Just let us know what message you want each month in the Bookplate Message box on the questionnaire. You can also contact us by email if that’s easier for you.
When and how are the books shipped?
The first book will be shipped typically within 7 business days from the time the order is placed. Each subsequent book will be mailed around the same time each month. Max’s Book Club members’ monthly selections are shipped by USPS Priority Mail and should be received in 2 to 3 business days. If you need the first book to arrive more quickly, please let us know and we’ll try our best to assist you.
Can I tell you when to send the first book?
Absolutely! If you are planning ahead for a birthday or holiday gift, place your order and then send us a message on the Contact US page with the date you’d like the first gift to arrive and we’ll send it out at the appropriate time.
Will my credit card be charged for the full membership at once or on a monthly basis? Will I be notified when my card is charged?
We will charge your credit card each month when that month’s book is shipped. You will receive an email notification when your card is charged.
How do I renew a membership?
You will receive an email notice right before the membership is due to expire. At that time, you can renew online in the same way as you purchased the initial membership.
What if I want to cancel before the end of the membership?
We certainly hope that this won’t happen! If there’s a problem, please don’t hesitate to email us and let us know so that we can try to fix it! However, if you really need to cancel, email us and we’ll do it right away.
What if my child doesn’t like one of the books?
Again, we hope this won’t happen! But if necessary, contact us and we’ll find a replacement book that will make him or her happy. Please do this within 5 days of receiving the book.
Are there any other fees involved in Max’s Book Club membership?
No! Unlike other book-of-the month clubs, there are no contracts, add-ons or additional fees. Standard shipping is included in the monthly price!

Can I customize a Baby Book Bag?
Yes! Since our Baby Book Bags are prepared individually, we will be happy to work with you. If you have a special request, just let us know and we will try our best to accommodate it. If you wish to spend an amount different from the bags that we offer, please contact us and we will be glad to work with you to create a baby gift that your recipient will be thrilled to receive!
What is included in each Baby Book Bag?
What is included depends upon the type of books. For example, we try to have an assortment of hardcover, board books and paperbacks. The number of books will vary depending on the assortment. The $85.00 Baby Book Bag also has a plush toy to go along with one of the books in the bag. If you have chosen to include a book for an older sibling, that book will be specially wrapped and labeled just for the new brother or sister!
When and how will my gift be shipped? How much does shipping cost?
Baby Book Bags are shipped within 48 hours of the receipt of the order. We ship them via Fedex Ground, and they should be received within 3-5 business days, depending on the destination. We can also ship overnight by Fedex Express or UPS. The cost of shipping depends upon the shipping method and the destination. If you contact us, we will be happy to advise you of the cost of the shipping.
